During the „Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Imaging” conference at the exhibition SPIE Photonics West (Jan. 24-30, 2009) the “Young Investigator Award” was presented to three students. Due to the large amount of excellent talks, the award sum of $1125 was split equally and was given to Sigrun Henkenjohann (University Bielefeld), Jonas Fölling (MPI Göttingen) and Nathan P. Wells (Los Alamos Nat. Labs). The award was sponsored by PicoQuant and offers the winners also a registration fee waiver for the European Meeting on “Single Molecule Spectroscopy and Ultra Sensitive Analysis in the Life Sciences”, to be held in Sep. 15-18, 2009, in Berlin.
